Book Review - Killing Floor by Lee Child

Killing Floor (Jack Reacher, #1)
Killing Floor by Lee Child
It seems right for my first review that I should start with the first book of the series, I have chosen Lee child's Jack Reacher series. In this book we are introduced to the character of Jack Reacher who is an ex-army man,  looking to get away from everything. We meet him just after getting off a bus in Georgia unfortunately for him he walked straight into the a strange set of circumstances that leads him to be accused of murdering his own brother who he hasn't seen for seven years. He soon finds out that he cannot trust anyone in the town apart from the new chief of detectives and one of the young attractive police offices.

Unfortunately due to the restraints of the books in my local library this wasn't the first Jack Reacher books I've read so the first couple of chapters of introducing his character when slightly amiss with me however the description is geared to someone who hadn't read any books before.
This book does used many stereotypes with Reacher being a tall handsome hero and the villains being a stereotypical corrupt politicians and businessmen however this doesn't detract from the story. The first part of the book builds the set up as it gradually progresses, initially she felt that the book started slowly however as you progress through the book you realise that these details are very important to the conclusion as all the pieces of the puzzle start coming together as you realise what is going on.
There is quite a differences between the long emotional dialogue scenes (between Reacher and  Roscoe)  and the scenes gore and violence that are dotted through out the book and this all come together at the end for a very dramatic ending where the hero must save the day.

As this is my first review I know it isn't the best, I wasn't sure where to write one where I tried not to give any of the plot away or write one including spoilers. If you have any help comments or tips please leave a comment to help me make my writing better.

Thanks for reading, may your day be full with happiness and joy
